Action Canada, UNFPA, and Global Affairs Canada host reception to celebrate efforts to protect and expand SRHR

25 years after the landmark International Conference on Population and Development, 50 years after the founding of UNFPA, and in the lead-up to Women Deliver 2019, this event will celebrate collective efforts to advance comprehensive sexual and reproductive health and rights , discuss what “unfinished business” remains, and explore what can be done to realize the sexual and reproductive rights of all, particularly women and girls.  

The Hon. Maryam Monsef, Minister of International Development and Minister for Women and Gender Equality will provide remarks.

Hosted by Action Canada for Sexual Health and Rights, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), and Global Affairs Canada, with support from the Future Planning Initiative, the event will also mark the global launch of UNFPA’s 2019 flagship State of World Population report Unfinished Business: the pursuit of rights and choices for all.
