National Mechanisms for Implementation, Reporting and Follow-up (NMIRFs) are a standing governmentstructure mandated to coordinate the preparation of reports to, and engagement with, international andregional human rights mechanisms, including the UN Treaty Bodies, the Universal Periodic Review (UPR)and Special Procedures. It also plays a key role in the follow-up and streamlined implementation processof treaty obligations and recommendations.
